Earth, a beautiful place to live in this universe comprises more than 8.7 million of various species of the living being, with 6.5 million species on land and 2.2 million in oceans According to the Census of Marine Life.
Among them only 1.2 million species have been formally described.
If this is correct, then only 14% of the world’s species have yet been identified – and only 9% of those in the oceans.
“The rest are primarily going to be smaller organisms, and a large proportion of them will be dwelling in places that are hard to reach or hard to sample, like the deep oceans,” said Dr Tittensor.
Impact:
Due to the destruction of natural habitats by human activities, such as overpopulation, pollution, burning fossil fuels, and deforestation, more than 1 million species of animals & plants were at risk of extinction. At least 571 species are lost since 1750 but likely many more.
(Home to all living beings, not only for Humans)
Changes like these have triggered climate change, soil erosion, poor air quality, and undrinkable water. These negative impacts can affect human behavior and can prompt mass migrations or battles over clean water.
Some concepts to reduce the impact:
We the humans lets work together to protect the earth at least by implementing some of the conservation ideas, as below
There were many more green innovations to conserve energy & to reduce pollution.
We can’t stop our activities, but we can able to reduce those unnecessary activities in order to save the Earth from extinction. Every living being in this Earth deserves their right to live, to balance the Ecosystem & Food chain.
Hence, we must realize the truth, before causing harm to this beautiful planet, The Earth, i.e. “Humans are not the only living beings on this Earth, but there are more than 8.7 million species”.
